Staffing and Strategic Plan
The Secretariat is headed by an Executive Secretary and has five sections:
- The Science section provides scientific, technical and administrative support to the work of the Scientific Committee and its subsidiary bodies. It undertakes the analysis of scientific and fishery data for consideration by the Scientific Committee and maintains various monitoring and science capacity building programs developed by the Scientific Committee.
- The Fisheries Monitoring and Compliance section provides support to the Standing Committee on Implementation and Compliance, administering and monitoring fisheries in CCAMLR waters and monitoring compliance with conservation measures.
- The Communications section provides logistical and technical support for the operation of the Commission in its four official languages, including management and translation of all documents submitted to, and arising from, meetings of CCAMLR bodies, management of the public website and all public content, and communications with Contracting Parties.
- The Data and Information Systems section supports CCAMLR data acquisition, maintenance and dissemination through the reliable, cost-effective and secure provision and management of data and information systems.
- The Finance, Administration, and Human Resources section administers CCAMLR’s financial resources, supports the work of the Standing Committee on Administration and Finance, provides personnel management services, including workplace policies and procedures, and maintaining CCAMLR’s physical assets.

Strategic Plan
The CCAMLR Secretariat Strategic Plan (2023–2026) details the vision, mission and goals for the Secretariat, together with the roles and responsibilities for the Secretariat.
In addition, the Strategic Plan outlines the Secretariat services provided for Members and stakeholders and provides a means for Members, and others, to monitor the performance of the Secretariat.
